    2. Why should I use Link Swap stats?

    1. What are Link Swap stats? - Top

Link Swap stats (also known as In & Out stats), allow webmasters engaged in link exchanges (link swap, traffic exchange) with other webmasters to view how many clicks each webmaster in the exchange has sent each other. - Updated: October 7, 1999

    2. Why should I use Link Swap stats? - Top

You should use Link Swap stats if you need to compare how much traffic you are sending to a site with how much that site sends to you.
This is good information to have when you are starting a traffic exchange with a site but don't know how productive it will be.
When both sites in a traffic exchange can accurately track how much traffic they send and receive over time, they have the information available to make smart business decisions.
Link Swap data can help you can decide whether to increase or decrease the amount of traffic you send to a site.
For example, if you know that a site is sending you good traffic, you will know to work closely with that site's webmaster now and in the future.

Understanding and managing traffic is a major factor in running a successful website, and Link Swap stats is just another piece of the traffic puzzle that SexList helps you put together. - Updated: October 13, 1999

Link Swap stats require two components:
    • Exit stats
    • A Link Swap partner

Before SexList can track your Link Swap stats, you need to have Exit stats set up on your site. It doesn't matter how many exit links you have configured on your site, as long as you have at least one. See the Exit stats section of this FAQ for help on setting up Exit stats. You will need to configure Exit stats for the link(s) on your site that lead to your Link Swap partner's site.
Once you have Exit stats configured for your site, you need a Link Swap partner.
A Link Swap partner is just a website other than your own that you are trading traffic with. This means you have a link to their site on your page(s), and they have a link to your site on their page(s).
The site you are trading traffic with needs to configure their site for Exit stats. If the partner site does not have a SexList counter, they need to sign up for one before you can continue.
Next, the partner site must configure their links with exit stats.
Once you have configured each other's links, you need to authorize - Updated: October 13, 1999
